With warm hearts amidst the chaos that is Trenchport; the Trenchport Humane Society is proud to announce its very first official adoption!

Tucked in the center of the bustle of the city at 106 Gutter Lane, the shelter opened its doors with a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Trenchport’s most vulnerable animals. And now, just weeks after launching, the staff is celebrating a milestone worth cheering for.

Meet Bunny—a shy but lovable bundle of fur—who has officially found a forever home with local resident Izzy.

"Bunny is such a great pet," Izzy shared. "He loves to eat his timothy hay and play with his toys. I got him a little green house to sleep in. He's a bit shy, but loves to cuddle once he gets to know you!"

The adoption brought joy not just to Bunny’s new home, but to the shelter’s caretakers as well. Rakel Littlebird, one of the dedicated hearts behind the shelter, beamed outside the storefront where just weeks ago, cages were being wheeled in and walls were still being painted.

“This is why we do what we do,” Rakel said. “Every adoption is a second chance—not just for the animals, but for the people who take them in.”

The Trenchport Humane Society has quickly become a hopeful fixture in the city, offering a soft spot in an otherwise rugged landscape. With a few successful intakes and now their first official adoption under their belt, the team is energized for what’s next.

But there are still many animals waiting.

“Bunny found his home,” says Izzy Ho, “but there are so many others here with just as much love to give.”

So if you’re thinking about adding a new friend to your life, swing by 106 Gutter Lane. Whether you’re into paws, claws, or floppy ears, your next companion might be waiting just beyond the door.
