Trenchport — The investigation into the dangerous new street drug known as “Candy” has taken a sharp and unsettling turn.

Izzy Ho, a local civilian who admitted to using the hallucinogenic, aphrodisiac-laced substance during last week’s Founders Day Festival, is now wanted by Trenchport Police after escaping custody during a 72-hour investigative hold.

Police say Ho, who had previously cooperated with initial questioning, grew evasive and refused to disclose the identity of her supplier. Her behavior reportedly escalated during a second interview with Chief Marcus Dawson, during which she became combative and issued a veiled threat—implying she might warn gang affiliates of the ongoing investigation.

“She was informed we had leads on the drug’s origin. Her response made it clear she was either protecting someone or actively involved in shielding them,” Chief Dawson stated. “Within hours, she was gone.”

Her escape has ignited concern across Trenchport, particularly as law enforcement has linked the distribution of Candy to the notorious local gang known as the Rejects—a group long associated with narcotics, assaults, and coercive control in across the city.

The circumstances of her escape remain unclear, and police are not confirming whether internal misconduct or external gang interference played a role. However, officials now believe Ho may have tipped off members of the Rejects about the investigation before fleeing.

Izzy Ho is now officially a fugitive and should be considered compromised, volatile, and potentially under the influence of gang intimidation.

“We’re not just looking for her because she ran,” said one officer close to the case. “We’re looking because she may have burned the whole operation.”

TPD, the City of Trenchport, and Trenchport Trust Bank have jointly issued a $15,000 reward for any anonymous tip submitted through the Thugstoppers program that leads to the arrest and detention of Ho or other suspects tied to the Candy supply chain.

Citizens are warned not to approach Ho if spotted. Instead, contact the Trenchport Police Department immediately or submit any information confidentially through the Crimestoppers Tip Line.

This case is rapidly evolving, and more arrests may follow. TPD is urging anyone who may have received candy or sweets during recent public events to dispose of them immediately and report the source.

“This isn’t about punishing users,” Chief Dawson emphasized. “This is about stopping a wave of chemically-induced manipulation and keeping it from swallowing this city whole.”

The Trenchport Tribune will continue to follow this story as developments unfold. Stay safe, and stay alert.
