Trenchport Social Services

The Trenchport Social Services Department was established under the guise of supporting the city’s most vulnerable citizens. With no families or children to serve, their official mission is to ensure the welfare of the city’s population but in practice, it is yet another cog in the corrupt machinery that governs Trenchport.

Publicly, the department claims to provide financial aid, mental health services, and housing assistance. In reality these resources are rationed based on loyalty and not need. The powerful use the system to reward allies while the truly desperate find nothing but locked doors and bureaucratic red tape; by design. Applications for aid disappear mysteriously and those who complain often find themselves blacklisted from any future assistance.

Caseworkers are either apathetic or complicit. Many use their positions to extract favors from the people they are supposed to help. Those who refuse to play along often lose their benefits or worse they disappear into the system's shadowy corners. Rumors abound of "special programs" where the indigent and mentally ill are sent for treatment, only to never be seen again.

Behind the department’s sterile office walls; files are falsified, identities are erased, and the city's unwanted are quietly shuffled out of sight. Those deemed "unproductive" are offered a choice: servitude to the city’s elite or a one-way trip to one of the department’s undisclosed facilities. Once inside, no one knows what happens next.

The Social Services Department is a cold calculating group that views the city’s population as resources to be managed or discarded. They maintain an iron grip on every program, ensuring that no aid is given without a cost. Under their watch social welfare has become just another means of control.

In Trenchport; the Social Services Department does not exist to help the needy but instead it exists to monitor, manipulate, and ultimately exploit those who cannot fend for themselves.
