Trenchport Mental Asylum

Snapshot_160 (1).png

The Trenchport Memorial Hospitals Asylum is a place where the city hides its broken, inconvenient, and dangerous. What was once meant to provide mental health care has long since devolved into a nightmarish prison masquerading as a hospital. Its towering, decaying walls loom over the outskirts of the city, a monument to neglect and cruelty.

Patients are less like individuals in need and more like test subjects or prisoners. Those without powerful advocates are subject to experimental treatments, many of which border on torture. Electroshock therapy, chemical sedation, and sensory deprivation are common practices, all performed under the guise of "care." The most vulnerable are those without families or anyone to ask questions. They are often subjected to the harshest trials. Rumors persist that some patients are transferred to undisclosed underground wings, never to be seen again.

The staff operates with impunity, protected by a system that values silence over accountability. Orderlies act as wardens, using fear and violence to maintain control. The doctors, many of whom have lost their licenses elsewhere, view the patients as nothing more than data points in their twisted research. Complaints and reports of abuse are buried beneath layers of bureaucracy or dismissed as the ramblings of the "insane."

For the city’s elite, the asylum offers a unique service; societal removal. Anyone who poses a threat, whether through knowledge or disobedience, can be quietly committed. With the right bribe, a person can be declared mentally unfit and locked away indefinitely, their protests ignored, their identity erased. The walls of the asylum do not discriminate between the genuinely ill and those who simply know too much.

Under their watch, the asylum is not about rehabilitation; it is about control. Those who enter do not leave unchanged; if they leave at all. â€‹In Trenchport, the County Asylum is not a place for healing. It is a shadowed fortress where the unwanted are hidden, the helpless are broken, and the truth is drowned beneath the screams echoing through its decaying halls.
